Quick answers

What is Uncodixfy?
A strict Markdown rule set designed to prevent LLMs from generating repetitive and boilerplate UI code.
What does Uncodixfy do?
Uncodixfy provides a highly specific set of Markdown-formatted prompt rules that developers can prepend to their LLM queries when asking for UI code generation. It specifically targets the tendency of models to output overly verbose, identical, or poorly abstracted frontend components, particularly when using utility-first CSS like Tailwind. By laying out strict architectural guidelines—such as enforcing DRY principles and requiring distinct component abstractions—the rule set forces the LLM to write cleaner, more maintainable code on its first pass. It acts as a set of prompt engineering guardrails for frontend development.
Who is Uncodixfy for?
This resource is for frontend developers, prompt engineers, and anyone using tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot to build user interfaces. No specific installation is required; it's used as text input.
How do I get started with Uncodixfy?
cat uncodixify.md
How popular is Uncodixfy on GitHub?
cyxzdev/Uncodixfy has 2,670 stars and 169 forks on GitHub, and gained 3 stars in the last 7 days.
What license does Uncodixfy use?
cyxzdev/Uncodixfy is released under the MIT license.

What Uncodixfy does

Uncodixfy provides a highly specific set of Markdown-formatted prompt rules that developers can prepend to their LLM queries when asking for UI code generation. It specifically targets the tendency of models to output overly verbose, identical, or poorly abstracted frontend components, particularly when using utility-first CSS like Tailwind. By laying out strict architectural guidelines—such as enforcing DRY principles and requiring distinct component abstractions—the rule set forces the LLM to write cleaner, more maintainable code on its first pass. It acts as a set of prompt engineering guardrails for frontend development.

This resource is for frontend developers, prompt engineers, and anyone using tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot to build user interfaces. No specific installation is required; it's used as text input.

  • Markdown Rule Set: Easily copiable rules that can be pasted into any LLM conversation or system prompt.
  • Boilerplate Prevention: Explicitly instructs models to avoid repetitive patterns in their generated markup.
  • Component Abstraction: Forces the LLM to break down large UI structures into reusable sub-components.
  • Framework Agnostic: Designed to improve code generation quality across React, Vue, Svelte, or plain HTML.
  • Tailwind Optimization: Includes specific guidelines for preventing the generation of massive, unreadable utility class strings.

Where teams use it

Cursor Integration

Add the uncodixify.md rules to your project's .cursorrules file to improve AI coding assistance.

Prompt Engineering

Use the rule set as a foundation for building custom system prompts for automated UI generation tools.

Code Quality Enforcement

Ensure that AI-generated prototypes adhere closer to production-ready DRY standards.

Learning Resource

Study the rules to understand common pitfalls and failure modes of current LLMs when generating frontend code.

Uncodixify

Uncodixify

GPT is surprisingly bad at UI design.

If you ask it to generate interfaces long enough, you start noticing the same bad design-patterns repeating.

Floating cards.
Oversized rounded corners.
Gradient-heavy dashboards.
Decorative labels everywhere.
Glass panels.

After a while you can recognize a “GPT UI” immediately.

This file exists to stop that.

What this is

uncodixify.md is a rule set that forces GPT to stop relying on its usual UI habits.

Instead of letting it improvise design decisions, the file blocks the patterns it almost always falls back to and pushes it toward more normal interfaces.

It doesn't try to teach GPT how to design.

It mostly just tells it what not to do.

Using it

Include uncodixify.md in your prompt or system instructions when asking GPT to generate UI.

Example:

Before (Typical GPT UI) | After (Uncodixified)

Before (Typical GPT UI) | After (Uncodixified)

Agent Skill

Uncodixfy is also available as an agent skill via SKILL.md. This works with AI coding agents that support the skill format, including Codex and Claude Code.

All platforms.
